Grow Old Along with Me

There is nothing as embarrassing as forgetting your own anniversary. Here I was sitting at my cousin's house at a surprise party for my 70 year old uncle, singing Happy Birthday, when my cute hubby kept singing but sang... Happy Anniversary instead of Happy Birthday. We had just returned from a trip to Disneyland (sooo fun) and I was frazzled and rushed and totally forgot. I started to think about how the years fly by. We have been married 13 years. It has been 17 years since I survived the car crash. My dad has been gone for 7 years. Anthony is 30. One of my baby nephews is graduating from High School. I guess life just goes and goes. I love sharing it with Scott. He has this amazing way of seeing things. He never gives up. We watched a cute love story called Music and Lyrics. Scott had seen it and wanted me to see it because it reminded him of some of our quirks. He was right. I am typing this as my mom packs for New York. The weather will be hot. It was almost 100 while in CA. I love the cool air. I think all the time when it is hot... why do I fight Scott about wanting to move to Montana? It would be cool air almost the entire year. But it is far away from family. Speaking of family-- I thought of a nickname for my cousins little girl. She is adorable. Her name is Emma. She ate the frosting off the cake. She had a white goatee and white fingers. This girl loves sugar. So her adorable grandmas nickname was Sugar, which got shortened to Shug. I thought it very fitting to carry on this name from a favorite Aunt for an adorable niece. This photo is from Anthony's wedding. Scott took it. I'm happy to grow old along with Scott. We celebrated with family tonight his birthday. Marj made me laugh, my mom cracks me up, Anthony stressed out, Salina rolled her eyes and Scott was the cutest. I love being with family and friends. I miss the Kinikin's, we had a great trip I will have to write more about that later. The kids were the best, Scott loved deep seafishing with karson and I loved to be with Marlene. I better help my mom.

Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad

Today I was thinking about how my parents would have been celebrating together. Once about 10 years ago my mom was sad that her and my dad would never celebrate 30 years together. We had found out my dad was terminal. I felt so sad for them. We were on vacation together. So I played a little happy trick on them. I called the airlines and asked if they would announce the Happy 30th. My parents we speechless. For one thing it wasn't even close the real day they were married and it was years away from 30. Everyone on the plane sang to them and congratulated them. They had a nice romantic day and pretended it was the 30th. They did have a 30th it was just separated by the veil of life. I wonder if my dad can look in on my mom. I think it would make him sad. She is not feeling well and having many challenges. He on the other hand is happy, at peace no pain. I guess he has a handle on the whole eternal perspective better than we do in our present state. I admire my mom as a widow. She is making on her own. It has been very difficult for her but she hasn't quit. She is wonderful and has so many qualities I don't. Maybe the older I get I will learn from her strength, I love them. Happy Anniversary U2!

Happy Anniversary

It is the second anniversary for Anth and Salina. It was one of the best days of my life to see them so happy and that it can be forever. I love them. It was a treat to go with Salina to her dress fittings and be with her in the Temple. Salina is selfless and thoughtful. She is witty and really fun to be with. She makes everyone feel at ease. I always dreamed of having a sister like her for a best friend. I'm proud to be friends with Salina and Anthony. I'm grateful he brought Salina into our lives. Anthony is so in love it makes me laugh. He can't get enough of Salina. CONGRATS!!!! Here is to 60 more years!!!
