2011 Cell Phone

I got my very first cell phone in 2009. Okay Scott had bought me several others which I never used. But in 2009 our lives changed completely. We went form 10 plus years of working and living together 24/7 to Scott having a traditional 9 to 5 job away from home. We also we in transition and building our home and renting and moving and selling our old home so I needed to port our home phone to a cell so Arbonne clients would still be able to find me during the moves. I love any photos of Scott.
I just figured out how to port all the photos from the last few years that are stored on my phone. Here are a few of them. Some favorites are any of Aunt Sue. From her falls to noticing Anth and her had the same beautiful grey color hair. Or all the different babies I am holding at blessings. The beach shots and family and holidays. The day Salina pierced her ears. For a cell phone the photos are not to shabby and bring back lots of warm memories:) And yes if you look at my camera on the cell now it is full of George.

Thanks Marlene

Each year I go an a girls get away. Sometimes it is more than once:) I love to go over hunting season since Scott is mentally check out and focused on bullets and bulls eyes and regulations. Since Aunt Sue was sick then me I was not even close to being prepared for my trip. I had given up accomplishing anything until Marlene saved the day or my trip. She is totally opposite than me in the "how our minds run" department. I think that is what makes M&M great-- that we are so different. Sometimes we wonder if we are both speaking English-- yet when we get the clear picture in focus we are on the same path just on different routes in different vehicles:) I love that she has made me see the light at the end of the tunnel. She will be getting done like 50 2 page layouts. She really takes advantage of the time away from the kids to get down to business. All the of the girls have kids so juggling is an art they have perfected. We will be having a blast- words can't quite describe the fun. Bring on the laughs. I am hoping to be feeling much better by the time we go. OH- I also want to tell the world that I love winkflash... http://www.winkflash.com/. You can store unlimited numbers of photos on their site for free. Plus if you have family spread out then they can share photos with you and you can share with them and no more sending CD or begging for prints:) You can give permissions to just a certain set of people or no people or a public view for some folders. They have been running a .06 per print sale:) I have also enjoyed the quality. Yipee. I will be putting all my photos on and all my layouts. http://scottandmissy.winkflash.com/

Reunion 2007 photos taken by Marlene

The first photo is from our wedding of Grandma and Grandpa. They both looked awesome that day.
I love this wonderful group photo. It is hard to get a good one of everyone. Marlene is awesome:) I'm sad it is over. I loved being in Park City with all of them. This is all of Scott's mom side's family. We had a few people not there (Richard & McKenzie), and a few more who made brief a appearance (Brian, Andrew, Mary, hubby and new baby). Scott's family- ROCK!!! I am making an album with a 2 page layout for each family member and little fun tidbits about the lives of each member of the family. It is really turning out cute. I am using my old KI Memories paper, with a 5 x 7 black and white photo. It is hard for me to not use color as I LOVE color. But the paper and accents are very colorful so I think the BW adds some depth and focus. I'll post them up when I'm done:)

a few more...

Here are a few more...

Uncle Dave

I found this old photo of my uncle Dave. I had never seen it before. He really reminds me of myself in looks, and a few of my cousins. Kelly and Tom the most. I don't ever remember seeing him a suit. He was always a band member to me. Kind of like a hippie. He has had a tragic life. He did just have a reunion with the little girl in the photo-- who is his daughter whom I have never even met. I never met the wife either. I did get to have Aunt Esther-- who was wonderful, and cousin Rachel who was the best. But it is sad how one choice can effect so many people and one painful memory can effect your entire life. I guess forgiveness really is very most important for the one holding the grudge or hurt. That is the next lesson I am teaching on Mother's Day. It is a powerful lesson but hard to really grasp. It is easy to say forgive and forget. It is another thing entirely to do just that. I know that if I want forgiveness I must forgive. I have felt how awesome the healing can feel when I allow Christ to mend aches and sorrow. Imagine if everyone could really allow Christ to heal them. It would be AWESOME. Life would be sweet.

Don't get any fancy ideas that you will win her over as your best friend, so she makes you one of kind originals. (I know our friend Jody is thinking of this as I type this.) Her kids are adorable and you can see recent photos of them on her photo site. ENJOY!!!
For you Conference watchers... it would be fun to hear about your ah-has. ENJOY that too!!!

The day Scott became Bishop Riffle

What a wonderful day this was. It was amazing to see Scott walk up to the stand. Then after being set apart he had this glow and a mantle that is hard to describe with words. The spirit was strong and peaceful that day. Cute Doug ordained Scott a High Priest. We just adore him and he is a miracle to be alive after surviving a massive stroke last year. Thanks to Paul and April we have some photos from this special day. I forgot the camera as did our resident photographer Marlene. In her defense she brought 2 sheet cakes and a salad, 3 kids and a husband. Thanks everyone for making this a very nice family event to remember:)
If you want to see all the photos they took on the Teran's camera go to...

Nutcrackers...

I am laughing still. Today I was talking to my sister about Christmas. She was frustrated trying to talk to Santa about a certain gift her boys asked for. Santa had checked every elf and not one of them seemed to be of help. Then that magic kicked in and hip hip hooray they found it and secured it. Then she went to pick up the kids from school. GUESS WHAT? Matthew didn't want the special hard to find took forever to secure item. NOPE he said "I want a nutcracker". Hee hee. I'm not sure what use he has in mind for a nutcracker. I hope it is not to crack his brothers fingers with. I don't know how she does it. Her kids are so cute and she is always on the go and she looks darling all the time. I love hearing the antics of the kids and the latest stories. It was Matthew who also could direct Leah to Starbucks when they had barley moved to a new town. He used to order Mocha juice... translation choc. milk. I wish he would stay little. I wish they all would. Life just gets more stressful the older you get... they should just stay kids. I'm sad as I am working on the Christmas presents for them and they require me looking through tons of photos of them and they are HUGE now. I miss the little hands and toes and the baby talk. I do love how Lauren the oldest still jumps in my lap. I saw her not to long ago at Grandpa Marks funeral. I miss them they live so far away. And you should see Andrews eyes... oh they are so blue and he has this imagination that won't quit. For the books I am copying an idea I saw in the cutest Scrapbook Family History book. It has been fun to put together. Everyone has been asking what we want for Christmas... besides world peace I'd love pictures and nutcrackers.

Oops

I have been loving the whole digital world. Then yesterday we got the news "they were unable to save" our camera card. So I lost...
1. really good Mungo shots which are impossible to get (he is not photogenic like him mommy)
2. Anna's baby book and my recent gift albums
3. Thanksgiving
4. My birthday
5. My mom and Marj at the grave (they were adorable)
6. About 100 heritage photos I took at my Uncles and Mom s of historic family items.
7. My flowers from Arbonne
8. My old childhood haunts (house, school, church, neighbors, friends-- from the funeral)
9. Photos from St. George
I guess it could have happened with a regular camera. I was going to download them as soon as we were home. When we tried the camera card would not work and the night before I showed them to Anthony just fine. OH WELL!!!
