Christmas memories 2006

First we drove to St. George. It was snowing in southern Utah a rarity. It was also very snowy in Las Vegas. I love the warm sunny weather we usually enjoy at Scott's parents house so I packed all Capri's and summerish clothing only to freeze. It got below 30 degrees. We took my mom to dinner and opened gifts with her. She is so funny and kind.

Andrew and Matthew are incredibly excited for Christmas. I love being with them. They are awesome at all kinds of sports. We went to the park one day and it was cold but it didn't slow them down one bit. Andrew played in the dirt and almost buried himself which later turned into the need for a bath. Matty and Evan played with the mater toy from cars. They have so much fun together it is neat to see cousins love each other sooo much. That is one reason it is sad they live so far apart. All 6 of them bounce up and down with joy to see each other. It makes it almost impossible to go with all 6 of them in public.

I got the treat of helping Lynda cook and bake. We made... almond roca, butter cookies, chocolate fudge, peanut butter fudge, chocolate chip Reese cookies, magic cookie bars, prime rib, honey baked ham, homemade rolls, 7-up salad, party potatoes, and we made several batches to last us through the entire holiday with all the visitors and for the neighbors. Lynda is amazing and her stamina is unmatched.

We spent time with Steve and Wynn eating at Oregano's and Arabia's. Scott got tricked by Steve to eat some hot item and he was crying. Evan ate salt. They also hosted the annual marshmallow roast which was not like other years. This time we had to work hard to keep all 6 kids from burning to death. I miss the years when Evan would lay in my lap and fall asleep. Wynn is very creative and is really into boy scouts now with the kids. http://www.oreganos.com/story.htm http://www.arribamexicangrill.com/about/top.html

The Cork and Cleaver is a old classic steak house we love to visit. I always get the chicken with salad bar. This salad bar is fresh and has millions of options. Scott loves the meat, this time is was Ahi-Tuna. We went with Lynda and Neal and it was a wonderful night.

We attended the annual neighborhood party. They have a drunk man that is loud and makes adult remarks all night. It was a little scary. But we love to see all the neighbors.

Lauren and I loved knitting dish clothes, Lynda taught us how several years ago. Lauren gave me one of hers as a gift... it is darling, not exactly square. We had fun playing together when ever I could get the electronics out of her hands. She had 3 of her American dolls in tow.

I played sudoko for the first time it is addictive! Neal and Lynda always spoil us. Neal makes us fresh fruit from the back yard and cuts it for us. It is so sweet and fresh. I wish I could smell citrus I'll wager it is yum-o. We had a business lunch with Lynda's team at http://www.lamadeleine.com/OurStory.aspx I always enjoy the bread and quiche.

Brian treated us all to Macayo's, a local Mexican restaurant that claims to have created the chim. http://www.macayo.com/ I love the food and the atmosphere, we sat in the star room. One of the restaurants we love is out of business because they are building a new complex. We enjoyed Ruby's one of our favorites. http://rubys.com There is nothing like being with family and enjoying all the traditions.
