3 eats, 2 Bishops, and a U-Haul

Just one of thing's I love about being friends with Marlene is access to her family:) Her Aunt and Uncle went with us to dinner last night so Scott could talk about his calling. Uncle Mark is the Bishop of the Midvale ward who's building our ward meets in. Plus Aunt Sherilyn is YW Pres. They are awesome and it was a real treat to spend time with them. We could not decide where to go eat so I narrowed it down to what we refer to as the 3eats. It is a strip of 3 restaurants across from a mall not far from home. It is great because you have 3 choices from 1 parking space. If everyone can't agree-- why then use take out from any combo. Sherilyn was smart and had us meet at 5pm. That way we had no crowds. On our way out the door to meet them we were trapped by a huge U-Haul blocking our hill. There is only one way down and out (that is legal-- Scott thought about testing our the Mercedes off roding skills on the steep grassy hill). How do you high center a U-Haul? I felt awful because here we were trapped. I called Marlene (what did we do before cell phones??) who called Sherilyn's cell phone. Scott decided that Rumbi sounded the best and most easy to talk at. He was right-- it was great to get advice from them, hear their testimonies and just laugh. Sometimes life can be or seem so serious and it is great to step back and get a new perspective. Right after Scott was called we went to talk to Marlene's parents Doug and Michelle, who were also Bishop once. I don't know what we would have done without them. Karson was so positive (even did a dance karate thing) and Marlene was so supportive. Doug and Michelle reassured us and gave us advice. It was really great. My favorite memory with them was at midnight in Disneyland riding the Matterhorn. Karson and Marlene had headed back to the room with the kids, which left the 4 "adults" to play until late at night. It is fun to have "parents" around. I love my mom and dad but they are not close at hand, especially my dad who never comes around anymore:) Marlene's family just adopted Anth, Salina and us:) We love it!!!
