President Faust, Scott, Death and Candice

We have had 2 deaths in our little church family this week and Scott seemed to think that they come in threes and was talking about who the next would be yesterday at one of the funerals. He just called me and said he heard on the radio that Pres. Faust would be missed and did that mean he had died? I looked online and he died today. He was surrounded by his family and was at his home. I think if you have to die that would be a very fortunate way to be at home surrounded by loved ones and then go into the arms of loved ones on the other side of the veil. To me Pres. Faust was a special witness of Jesus as the Christ. He was an example of serving your family, community and God. He loved the law and that was his profession, yet he was soft spoken and tempered-- not often seen in today's political circles. Just thinking of him has a nice calming effect on me. I'm grateful for his life and example.
The other deaths have been very sad... one baby and one woman only 50. I feel so sad for the family left behind. I know the one who has died is with God but the ones left behind suffer because of the love they had. I guess the only real way to take away all pain is to take away all love. Scott is a great person to lean on. He has a strong belief in life after death which he gained after his grandmother died in 1996. He is gentle and a good listener. He is really my hero. I love to be with him and it has been very humbling to watch him comfort and lead others not in our family. He is approachable and trusting of others. It is amazing how different we are. I often second guess others motives or pass judgment-- not Scott. He is very level headed. At the funeral my friend and I slipped away for a moment to talk. She believes that we can handle anything because of God. We may not want to handle it but we can. I hope that is not true-- I definitely don't think I could handle some of the things I have watched others called on to pass through. She has good faith. She is a very young Relief Society President and she makes it appear easy. I know it is not. It was very touching to em to see all the people come forward to help out with food, money and time. All to help ease the pain of loss.

Scott is a wonderful guy. Your a lucky girl Missy. Scotts pretty lucky too. I will never forget pres. Faust. His last talk on forgiveness was one of the most wonderful talks I have ever heard. I talked to Anthony yesterday and he sounds great. Parker and Ashley had a baby boy on the 2nd of August. Crew Parker Hollis.
