Wonderful

Mom for a week- wonderful:) Mom for a month- would be exhausting, I'm in awe of you moms.
We just got back from a week in California with our favorite little 8 year old girl where I got to play all week while Scott fished and worked. (Our best buddies the Kinikinis are awesome to travel with, but this time we were with only one of them-- Kelsie. I missed the rest of the family but loved being the 3 of us. Scott and I think they have been the best parents because we LOVE the kids.) Kelsie is so cute and funny and as soon as I am settled in I will write all the fun stuff! She loved the plane flights and the pilot announced over the PA to her and let her up front in the cockpit with her doll! I miss her all ready. I wish I had wrote down all the adorable stuff she said and did she is just a cutie and Scott and I loved spoiling her for a week. She did not miss home until the last night when she decided it is fun to be the only child for only a week and then you feel sad because you miss your little sister and brother. We were surprised she didn't get homesick or cry once. She loved eating breakfast each morning because she could have all the eggs and muffins she wanted. She pretended the blue berries were people and enjoyed eating the people. We watched conference, visited the LA temple, the beach, American Girls store, a baseball game, Disneyland, shopping, site seeing and just laughed and talked. One of the funny things she said was... "Missy didn't you listen to conference, you are not supposed to torture the children" This was given in a rather dramatic fashion after I suggested she take a shower one morning. She does not like to shower. She then told me "My mom never tells me to use soap". It brought back memories of cute Lauren our niece a few years back with loathing the shower and Kelsie and Lauren both pig out on Cheesecake Factory bread. You can see Kelsie shoveling it in, in one of the above photos. I pulled a Graceful swan dive right on my face one day and Kelsie kept saying "You are more important than any gizmo" This was because I had dropped the expensive phone/computer thingy Scott had just got for work. I step off the curb and fell flat on my face. I felt so silly, but it was sweet to see Kelsie's compassion and caring nature. Scott would get Kelise laughing and they both ran around like crazy looking for certain pins. Kelsie LOVED the art academy and spent hours there learning to draw, she is very talented at it. The carousel was also a big hit for her and I loved that she begged to see muppets many times, her laugh is darling. I want to watch Pete's dragon with her at grandmas, and she also has never seen the Muppet Show or Indiana Jones. She would get tried and fall asleep in my lap at the parks or in the back seat of the car holding tight to her doll Julie. She was on the hunt for churro carts and woudl bat her eyes at Scott and beg for one at every cart it cracked Scott up and he loved gettng them for her and seeing how fast she could make it disappear. One night late churro were all we coudl find to feed her and she LOVED that night.
