Magnets

My cute friend Karin and her hubby started a new magnet business. They made some for Scott being Bishop that say I love Bishops interviews. Karin and I have been buddies sine birth, over 30 years and no fights. Well we did used to fight about who got to be Chris when we played Charlies Angels. But we were 3 years old riding big wheels. You can see her company at http://www.starslug.com/ .

The first house I lived in was a duplex my parents built on land my Grandpa Dixon owned and named Towne Drive. My next door neighbor was Karin Bozich who was not quite a year older. She is my oldest Friend. Born Feb. 18, “Dancing Queen” is now a McLean. She is the sweetest person in the entire world. She has always been kind to me. We have never had an argument. These four photos are from her birthday party in 2002 at her Moms house on Towne Circle. We’ve remained friends through all the good and sad times. She has a knack for fashion and decorating. I have so many memories and things that remind me of my true friend. Charlie’s Angels on our big wheels, Michael Jackson, Olivia Newton John, playing outside, dumb boys teasing us, U2, crushes, SNL, crank calls, 7-11, Deep Thoughts, Primary, Strawberry Shortcake, bath time, makeup, ice cream, crystals, Halloweens and New Years. Second chances… Karin was almost killed in a fatal car accident where her little brother did not survive. She has also had open heart surgery. (I visited her in the hospital and then had to be out of town for business. I was really worried and as soon as I was back I went to be with her. She had her make up on. Which made me chuckle because I remember how worried about her hair she was when we were younger.) I’m grateful her life was spared again and the operation was a success. She never gave up on me when I fell away from God. We can be totally honest with each other, we can be ourselves. When I think about Karin I smile on the inside all the way out. Karin has the most organized closets you have ever seen. She has taught me about friendship, about never giving up, about glitter, and keeping the child inside alive. “I want to be Chris.”
