While helping Aunt Sue with some social security issues, I found on their site a list each year of the most popular names for children. It is across America or by state. Here is the site... http://www.socialsecurity.gov/pressoffice/pr/baby-names2006-pr.htm
Boys:
1) Jacob

I didn't run into anyone with my same name until Jr. High. I thought it was strange that someone could share my same first name, as it wasn't one of the common names like: Jennifer. It's nice to have this kind of web link to see what the most popular names are.
I had 5 other Melissa's. I think it may be why I have always been Missy becasue I was the only one who wanted to go by Missy. But as an adult I know a TON of Missy's and Melissa's.
People always tried to call me Missy, but I would attack them when they tried (I was a tough child who didn't like to be picked on). They always said it in a nasty way, or they combined it with a mean word, like "Messy Missy". People can be so mean. I'm not talking just other kids, the adults would do it too!
So that's why I'm Mel. And if people start calling me "Messy Mel", I might start to cry!
